Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there any lead in the clay or glazes?
No, the clay body and glazes are lead free.
- How can I best clean the pots?
The pottery is dishwasher safe and can also be washed by hand. Pottery is durable, but breakable, so handle gently.
- Can I boil water in my teapot or coffee pot on my range top?
No! Doing this will crack the pot because it is heated unevenly and too rapidly. Always boil the water in a tea kettle, then brew the tea or coffee in your pot.
- Can I bake in or on the pottery?
Yes. However, over time (usually many years), a baking pot may develop a crack. One of our favorite pots for baking developed a crack and we have continued to use and enjoy it for more than 20 years.
- How about the microwave?
All the pots are microwaveable. While the iron content of the clay poses no danger to the microwave oven, it does cause the pottery to get quite warm. You may need oven mitts to remove the pot from the microwave.
